Your words, your power

Stories are a source of imagination, language development, and self-confidence. During our reading sessions, we take children and adults into the world of stories. Full of fantasy, emotion, and meaning. But it doesn’t stop at listening. We encourage participants to create their own stories, write them down, and share them aloud.

Through this process, people not only improve their writing and speaking skills, but also learn to listen, reflect, and collaborate. They discover that their thoughts matter and that their voice deserves to be heard. Storytelling is more than language; it’s a way to understand and share the world.

Example from Annette Jansen
On a rainy day at school, I read an exciting story aloud. Outside, the rain tapped gently against the window and the children gazed dreamily outside. Then I invited them to imagine what the rain might be trying to tell them. Together, we came up with the idea that the raindrops were tapping out a code. In their stories, the children received a mysterious message: a mission they had to carry out. Some had their characters search for a hidden treasure, while others had them save the animals.

When the children shared their stories aloud, the room filled with excitement, laughter, and pride. And that is precisely the power of storytelling: daring to see the world differently for a moment and sharing that imagination with others.
